Contributor was established 25 years ago, major focus was the servicing and repairs
of Power Transformers. AMP was challenged to expand on the services it rendered
and changed their focus not only to perform maintenance on transformers
but to become a leader in the field of
MV systems. We pride ourselves in providing highly skilled and experienced
staff who has been exposed to both old and new technologies. Our dedicated team

Substation Maintenance and Legal Requirements:
Primary and secondary injection testing of protection relays.
Servicing and Testing of MV and LV Switchgear.
Perform Speed, ductor and pressure testing om MV Switchgear.
Servicing and testing of Oil Circuit Breakers (OCB’s)
Service and Testing of Battery Tripping Units (BTU’s), using either Impedance testing or battery capacity discharge.
Infra Red Scanning (Thermography) of LV Panels.
Ultrasonic scanning of MV Panels.
Partial Discharge measurements of MV Panels.
Protection grading studies and application of settings.
Pressure testing of MV equipment up to 30KV.
Transformer Maintenance and Repairs: Oil sampling and analysis (Analysis done by 3rd Party).

Quality of Supply (QOS) and Load Measurements:
Quality of Supply measurements - (NRS 048 Specification) Harmonic measurements and analysis. Voltage unbalance measurements. Voltage flicker measurements. Energy variation measurements. Load profile measurements and load studies. Power Factor measurements. Voltage disturbance measurements. DC measurements. Transient measurements.
AMP Transformers is in possession of 30 Load and harmonic recorders.
AMP offers a service where measurement equipment can be installed on line, either on the MV or LV side of the electrical network.
AMP can assist with verification of the existing metering installed, compared to billing and maximum demand. Determine current usage, in relation with available capacity of transformers.
Load measurements can be performed making use of existing or external Current transformers (CT’s).
AMP is also in possession of measurement equipment approved by the National Electricity regulator to perform QOS measurements on any Utility network, which would comply with local NRS 048 –Part 2 specification.
