AMCARE supplies about 400 litres of soup and 800 loaves of bread to 5 clinics and 240 children at 2 schools.
Amcare Centre of Faith, Hope and Love.
AMCARE was established in 2001 by the Alberton Methodist Church as a community outreach programme.

In 2001 Rev Neill Robertson had the vision that the Alberton Methodist Church should have an Outreach project which included a Clinic. Our HIV & AIDS services developed from having 10 caregivers providing Home- and Community Based Care(HCBC) in the townships to the current 29 caregivers. Early in our journey we entered into a partnership with the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Clinics in the Greater Alberton area and started providing food to patients on the days they received their TB medication. AMCARE would provide the infrastructure and manage the Clinic, Department of Health would provide ARV Medication and Laboratory Services and Right-to-Care (through PEPFAR and USAID) funding for personnel. Funds were raised from Joy Mining Manufacturers, Atlas Copco, Otis Elevators, Innovation Group, Air Liquide, Vital Air and some private donors to the amount of R1,6 million. In February 2012, Right to Care notified Amcare that they would no longer fund personnel for the clinic as they were unsuccessful in establishing an ARV treatment facility where patients could be started on treatment. The clinic continued to function with one part time professional nurse, one cleaner and the clinic manager, also a professional nurse. Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. In partnership with the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, an HCT and Wellness Clinic- the Injabulo Clinic, based at AMCARE’s premises, is dedicated to the prevention and early detection of health problems such as HIV & AIDS, Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Our main preventative HIV strategy is male circumcision. Contributions received from our supporters help to sustain and grow the many aspects of the work of AMCARE in our communities. When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 350 patients in communities around Alberton are served through this ministry as AMCARE has become a visible means of support to these communities. Assessing and meeting basic needs such as food and clothing (see Feeding Scheme) Admitting and accompanying patients to clinics, hospitals and hospice when necessary. Assisting and supporting victims of domestic violence through all the different processes to protect themselves and their children; Assisting elderly clients and their families with placements at old age homes as well as emotional support; Community based care is provided to approximately 400 clients with HIV/AIDS. This is administered by a team of 32 caregivers and three social work staff members. A 4-week training programme in either catering or sewing at a minimal cost of R20 registration fee. In addition we train unskilled persons in Perma-culture Gardening and Woodcraft. The main focus of the Injabulo Clinic is however the Medical Male Circumcision performed by the more than 20 staff members of the clinic on a daily basis. Medical male circumcision is done at no cost to patients and is performed by a qualified doctor under strict hygienic conditions. The Clinic also offers occupational health medical examinations at a cost to employers. We are targeting 30 Orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), between the ages of 12-18 year who are attending the Peer Educational Groups that AMCARE renders on weekly basis in the communities. Each child has his/her own vegetable garden to plant, these gardens are at homes of the children and AMCARE monitors and assists the children with the gardens.
